Re: Unmasking Halloween: History

I grew up attending a Christian school from grades 5 to 8. Halloween is not considered a Christian holiday or at least at my church and what I learned it was not. I remember a few Halloween’s that I was not encouraged to dress up and trick or treat. Now being a mother myself and no longer having an involvement with the church I celebrate Halloween and take my son trick or treating. I think it is important for children to learn about other traditions, celebrations and cultures. I think that it is important to respect individuals’ cultures and beliefs by finding ways to promote inclusion in schools and within the classroom.
