When I am not in class I volunteer on my son’s hockey team as a parent helper on the ice. Helping assist children aged 4 to 6 skate takes patience and compassion as they are all very new to the sport and have little to no experience to begin with. Some extra-curricular activities I am involved in are dance, singing, and theatre performance. I often partake in drop-in classes for dance and it is a great way to connect with others. I performed in many musicals and plays throughout the years that include: Beauty and The Beast, Seussical the Musical, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Robin Hood, and M*A*S*H. Singing and music are a large part of who I am. All these extra-curricular activities have given me knowledge of what it means to be accountable, work as a team and develop a strong sense of community.
